Hashtags (#) are an easy way to ensure you are sharing the right information with your teammates. Use hashtags when you need to reference projects, tasks or notes in your comment. In this article, you will learn how to use hashtags and where you can use them.
How to use #
- Go to any comment field or formatted text field.
- Enter #.
- Start typing a project, task or note name.
- Select a project or task from the menu.
After selecting a project, task or note, the text will automatically convert into a link. The link will display the project, task or note name in bold and include a project, task or note symbol. Clicking on the link will open the project, task or note details overlay.
Where to use #
You can use hashtags in:
- Project discussions
- Task discussions
- Task descriptions
- Multi-line, formatted custom text fields
- My Notes or Project Notes
- Chats and channels
Clicking on a project, task or note link will open an overlay.
Tips
- Task and project links are displayed using the color representing their current status
- Project, task and note links are updated automatically if their name changes
- Click inside the status box to complete a task
- The menu list displays projects, tasks and notes in the order of the last day they were updated, the most recent at the top
- For tasks and notes located in a project, the menu list items will show the project name in parenthesis after the task or note name
