Note: Template Groups are only available in the Professional, Business and Enterprise editions.
BasicOps gives you the ability to categorize and organize your templates in different groups. This can make it much easier to choose the right template when you want to create a new project from a template.
This article will show you how to:
Add a Template Group
To add a template group to your workspace, you must first click on Projects in the left sidebar, then select the Templates tab. This will take you to the template list. From within the template list click on the Add Template down arrow, and then the Add Template Group dropdown menu. You will see the Add Template Group dialog box. Enter the group name here.
In the following image we’ve added the template group Customers.
Add Templates to a Group
All templates are considered independent until they are assigned to a group. So you will next want to add your templates to a group. There are two ways to do this.
- Add template through the Add Template dialog box
- Drag existing templates from existing template groups
In the following image, we have added two existing templates to our new group by dragging and dropping them.
Renaming or Deleting a Group
Once you have created your group and added templates to it, you can rename or delete it simply by clicking on the 3 dots on the right hand side of the group name.
Select Rename Template Group and enter a new group name.
If you wish to remove a template group select Delete group from the dropdown menu. In the dialog box, click on the Delete Group button. Note that existing templates will be moved to the Independent Template group.
Template Subgroups
Note: Template Subgroups are only available in the Business and Enterprise editions.
When you hover over a group you’ll see buttons to add a subgroup or a template. In the example above, we have added a subgroup named East Coast, and moved one template into it.
