Default Client Access lets you choose who can see the new discussions and file uploads you create by default. This helps you control whether new content starts as internal-only or visible to both your internal Project Team and Client Team.
This article will show you how to:
Choose your default client access
- Go to Preferences.
- Under Default Client Access, choose the default visibility for new discussions and file uploads you create.
- Your selection becomes the default for new discussions and file uploads you create going forward.
You can change this setting at any time.
Understand the access options
- Project & Client Team - Both internal Project Team members and Vendor Team members can see the new discussions and file uploads you create.
- Project Team - Only internal Project Team members can see the new discussions and file uploads you create.
This setting controls the default access level for new content you create. You can still adjust access on individual discussions or file uploads when needed.
Know when this setting is available
Default Client Access is available only when Discussion and File Access Control is enabled by your workspace Administrator under Workspace > Client Access Control.
To learn more about workspace-level client access settings, see Workspace Settings.
