Set Up a BasicOps Agent User

This guide walks admins through the onboarding flow for setting up a new BasicOps Agent User and connecting the agent to BasicOps through the BasicOps MCP server.

 

There are two prerequisites for setting up an Agent User:

  • Must have an existing BasicOps account with Agent Users enabled

 

Each step is listed here:

  1. Navigate to Settings > Users
  2. Select Agents > Add Agent
  3. Name your agent
  4. Add agent to projects
  5. Set API key expiration date
  6. Copy API key
  7. Save API key in a note
