This guide walks admins through adding a new Agent User by hand and connecting the agent to BasicOps through the BasicOps MCP server. Use it for an agent you run on any platform, including platforms BasicOps doesn't connect for you.
Before you start, you need a BasicOps account with Agent Users enabled.
Each step is listed here:
- Navigate to Settings > Users
- Select Agents > Add Agent, then Add an agent manually
- Name your agent
- Add agent to projects
- Set API key expiration date
- Copy API key
- Save API key in a note
- Move to the specific instructions for your Agent
1 - Navigate to Settings > Users
2 - Select Agents > Add Agent, then Add an agent manually
The Add Agent dialog shows every way to bring an agent into your workplace. Under Managed agents, BasicOps can create and connect a Guild agent for you. See Add a Managed Guild.ai Agent as an Agent User. To connect an agent you run yourself, click Add an agent manually at the bottom.
3 - Name your agent
Enter a Display Name for the agent and click Add Agent. You'll add the agent's API key in the next steps.
