BasicOps turns your Zoom meeting summaries into notes automatically. When Zoom's AI Companion generates a summary for a meeting, BasicOps brings that summary into your workspace as a note — no copying and pasting required.

Before you start
Make sure you have the following ready:
- Zoom already integrated with BasicOps (see Integrating with video call services).
- Your Zoom account has AI Companion turned on.
- Your meetings are recorded to the cloud — summaries aren't generated from local recordings.
Step 1: Authorize Zoom
Before meeting summaries start arriving as notes, you'll need to authorize Zoom in BasicOps. If you've already connected Zoom to BasicOps before, this re-authorizes that connection — there's nothing extra to set up:
- Open a chat with a team member from the right sidebar.
- Click the Zoom icon.
- Log in to your Zoom account.
- Click Authorize (or Re-authorize, if you've connected Zoom before) to connect BasicOps.
Once authorized, this is the same Zoom connection used whenever you start a Zoom meeting from BasicOps — you won't need to repeat this step.
Step 2: Turn on AI Companion and cloud recording in Zoom
For Zoom to generate a summary that BasicOps can bring in, each meeting needs:
- AI Companion turned on in your Zoom settings.
- Recording set to save to the cloud in your Zoom recording settings.
How meeting summary notes work
Once you've authorized Zoom and your meeting settings are in place, here's what happens after each meeting:
- Zoom generates a summary once AI Companion finishes processing the meeting.
- BasicOps adds that summary to your Notes as soon as it's ready.
- If you started the meeting from BasicOps, the note is created in that workspace only.
- If you started the meeting outside BasicOps, a note is created in every workspace where your Zoom account is authorized in BasicOps.
Notes are personal by default
Meeting summary notes are created as personal notes. By default, only the person who started the meeting can see them. Move the note into a project if you want your team to see it.
Troubleshooting
- No summary note appears after a meeting: Confirm you've authorized Zoom, that AI Companion was on for that meeting, and that you recorded to the cloud rather than locally.
- The note isn't showing up in the workspace you expected: If the meeting wasn't started from BasicOps, a note is created in every workspace where your Zoom account is authorized — check each of those workspaces' Notes.
- No one else on my team can see the note: Meeting summary notes are personal by default. Move the note into the relevant project to share it.
